Progressive House Logic Pro X Template | EDM Sessions EP092
Progressive House Logic Pro X Template | EDM Sessions EP092
In episode 92 Mikas creates a deep tech progressive house track from scratch. The session begins by setting up the Logic Pro X at 124BPM and the refresh rate to 96000KHZ for maximum headroom.
We begin by recording a simple MIDI pattern for the main Kick Drum, then we layer the basic drums to have a basic progressive house groove. We then move on straight to creating a bassline. We first look into some presets for the alchemy synthesizer, once we have something we like we record some MIDI in the sequencer that will be edited to create the final bass pattern, a bit dark and groovy is what we are going for in this song. Afterward we are looking into improving the bass with a better preset or sound design, the solution is to layer a second preset that will add punch and depth to the original ideas.
We then create a simple pad that will add to the movement of the track, only two keys here. We then browse the sounds and settle on a vocal pad sound that is a little spooky but add dimension. We then create a chord to use as a stab to mark the time, we will then use more elements to create sounds that will talk to each other or create a sequence. We also add cool percussive sounds that add a cool effect to our existing deep progressive groove song.
We then record a lead using the alchemy synth; the result is an intriguing sounding pad with a spacey kind of feel. We then add an organ groove using some stabs, this will help build the drive of the track. We then work on adding character to the bass pattern we created using a send FX channel and logic pro x delay designer.
We close this session by reviewing our mix and cleaning our the elements of the song one by one.
May the sounds be with you.
